Friday evening all four of us students going to Cambodia packed up my little HHR and drove to Lenexa KS (just outside of Kansas City). This was our first time all being together and it was a GREAT trip! I had a blast getting to know the other three girls, Ashley, Adrienne and Holly. We each have different strengths and talents that work very well together. We also had fun getting to know Dr Hardy and her daughters Clara and Chloe better as well.
Our faculty sponsor, Dr Colleen Hardy, has a sister who lives in Lenexa named Dawn. Dawn and her husband Ben and their 2 yr old Ethan had us come to their beautiful home and clean all weekend. We did landscaping, cleaned out a fish pond, scooped dog poop, raked leaves, pulled weeds, trimmed bushes, etc. We also did stuff inside the house like filing, organzing and cleaning. Dawn and Ben were fabulous hosts who treated us and fed us VERY well! It's great to make new friends! We also got a lot of down time to hang out, watch movies, and talk. We did parafin wax hand treatments and got to hang out in the hot tub at the end of the day to relax. It was a great weekend start to finish. They even want to have us after the trip just to hang out with them. They were extremely generous in their donation and it was a huge blessing to all four of us!
